Fibre Heritage of The Coast Salish- by Whonnock Weavers and Spinners Guild

The Whonnock Weavers and Spinners Guild had the opportunity to write an article about Salish weaving. At the time it was a popular trend; many guilds had learned to weave in the Salish style and created beautiful tapestries. The Whonnock Weavers had the fortune of having an anthropologist on the team and after a visit to the Salish Weavers in Yarrow, at the Coqualeetza Cultural Education Centre, the group wrote the article.  It was published in Weavers Journal Magazine Fall issue of 1984. From that yarn we knitted , we crocheted  and we wove with it. At Country Fest we demonstrated all of this and used up the last of what we had.
